Experience - whether you're going to college or university or are looking for work or to just for something to do, you'll enhance your prospects with some real-life work responsibilities - like timekeeping, handling money, completing paperwork, working with the public and working to rules and roles. The skills you'll learn at DYNAMIX could help you into Nursing and HealthCare, Social care, Youth Work, Education, and Sport and Leisure and you'll learn about life in the workplace. All our youth volunteers are accredited on the VYPER scheme and get certificates for the hours they've volunteered, and we're always happy to write individual references.
Fun - It's a Saturday morning youth club. The emphasis is on young people having fun, safely and you'll be there to help them. It's not just sports, playstation, Yu-Gi-Oh!, baking and arts and crafts, and you'll be there to get the young people involved, to fire their imaginations, to chat and chill with them. You'll be part of the team of staff and volunteers and supported by experienced Youth Workers and managers.
Training - All our volunteers get recognised training in Food Safety and Hygiene, in safeguarding awareness and in First Aid.
Uniform - You'll have a uniform shirt because fun can be messy. We've always got some paint, glue and glitter going on, as well as chocolate and other cooking ingredients, plus celebration cakes and party food, and in the summer there'll be grass and mud from sport and games outside.
Worried it's not for you? Don't be. All our volunteers get a no-obligation opportunity to try-out, We'll introduce you to the club, its members and staff and make sure you've a buddy for your first visit. We'll make sure to speak to you before you leave to see how it went too.
Or volunteer for DYNAMIX as a Trustee...
If being at a Youth Club isn't for you but you'd like to help in another way, why not join our board of Trustees?
DYNAMIX is a registered charity in England, and is registered as a Voluntary Youth Organisation with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. We work with children and vulnerable adults (age 8 to 25)*, so we have to ensure that all our staff have a DBS check (a Disclosure and Barring Service check, valid for up to three years, that checks that you are able to work alongside children and vulnerable adults). Dynamix has policies for Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Anti-Bullying, Code of Conduct and Discipline, Behaviour Management, Safeguarding, Membership and Data Protection and more, and we have a club Risk Assessment that is reviewed annually. All of these policies are available online.
*Because of its work with children and vulnerable adults this organisation is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act.
